The time for long-awaited vacations is coming. It is possible that you were not going to go there, but what if your exotic trip was planned? Meanwhile, we are starting.
10. Syria
Not to say that Syria is a resort country, and in another year tourist packages are sold there in bundles, but this summer they are definitely not waiting for anyone there. The fact is that the country is completely and completely mired in hostilities. The civil war that began in 2011 led to the fact that an impressive part of Syria was controlled by radical Islamists. Despite the fact that the armed forces of the Russian Federation that intervened in the case almost completely eliminated the militants, today in the country there are still centers of resistance consisting of gangs.
9. Libya
In many ways, a similar situation is observed in Libya. The same seven years ago, a civil war broke out here. During the clashes between the warring parties, the incumbent head of state was overthrown, and the country's government was completely redrawn. Not without the participation of Islamic radicals. Thus, the officially (we emphasize) completed war led to the fact that part of Libya (mainly coastal sections) is controlled by Islamic militants, and in some places armed Tuareg formations have proclaimed power. In general, in Libya, naive tourists with a camera are not very welcome.
8. Colombia
In a country that has become more famous for its cocaine production than tourism, there is nothing to do. The reason for this is the rebel movement, which as it began here half a century ago, continues to this day. Of course, today it is no longer being implemented on such a scale as before, but the existing groups from time to time hunt and make themselves felt. So it’s far from the fact that you will be able to spend time calmly, you decide to go on an adventure in Colombia. Clashes take place here not only with the armed forces of the country, but also between the groups themselves. Risking your head is not the best way to spend a vacation.
7. North Korea
There is no war here, and the country’s diplomatic relations with Russia are on a major note, but you should not rush to a tourist visit to the DPRK. The main reason lies in North Korea’s relations with its neighbors from South Korea. They are, to put it mildly, strained largely due to frequent missile tests from the DPRK. Just the other day, South Korea was forced to respond to the launch of Kim Jong-un ballistic missiles and the company with its strategic weapons. There were no victims, but this call is very alarming. By the way, in addition to the tense situation, you will still find a lot of restrictions, for non-compliance with which you can pay so well until a temporary departure from the DPRK.
6. Burundi
Most readers probably have not heard of such a country. And Burundi, by the way, is washed by the longest and second deepest freshwater lake in the world (Tanganyika). However, this is all that this area in Africa can boast of. Burundi is an extremely poor state with a low level of development. Many years of civil war were driven to the bottom of the country, as well as constantly arising ethnic conflicts. It is not difficult to guess that a European tourist is unlikely to like it here. There is simply nothing to watch in Burundi, given that half of the territory is used for arable land, and a third of the remaining is occupied by pastures.
5. The Republic of Haiti
This is definitely not Tahiti. The picture here is very reminiscent of the situation in Burundi, with the exception that Haiti does not have a neighborhood with a record pond. The economy of this state is a figurative holey bucket without a handle - the annual GDP per person here is below $ 500 (the 203rd indicator in the world). Moreover, poverty here is measured not only by money. Hunger, epidemics and natural disasters are not something out of the ordinary here. Accordingly, as a tourist, in Haiti you will not get hold of a decent hotel and colorful photographs of attractions. Neither one nor the other is simply not there.
4. Afghanistan
A country that you probably should never visit. The fighting here does not stop, it seems, at all. Well, if the first time you enter the name of the state in the search engine, it appears that the authorities agreed with the Taliban on a ceasefire for 10 days. Little has changed here years after the withdrawal of Soviet troops. Sad constancy. Another negative side of this state is the production of drugs in an incredible amount. The percentage of global opium trafficking concentrated in Afghanistan reached 90. Also, the manufacture of low-grade heroin is booming.
3. Iraq
Is there any need to explain that a country 15 years ago tightly mired in war cannot even be a bit hospitable. In 2003, the American military campaign started here, which lasted until 2011. Almost immediately after the withdrawal of US troops, Iraq became the haven of radical Islamists. It turned out to be controlled by a fairly large territory. In 2017, the Iraqi government officially announced the end of the war, however, reports and news indicate that Islamic militants still dominate in some parts of the country. Of course, no sane person would ever think of visiting Iraq for tourism.
2. Democratic Republic of the Congo
It’s also not good news what resort. Another poor and underdeveloped state on our sad list. Numerous civil wars subsided here at the turn of the millennium, but the consequences of armed conflicts do not allow the DRC to rise to the economic level today. In particular, physical violence and abuse of women, as well as sexual slavery, are very widespread here. Having arrived in the DRC, it will be extremely difficult for a girl to return back with honor and dignity. By the way, not so long ago facts surfaced that cannibalism had taken place in the country at one time. Of course, in isolated cases, but somehow it does not become easier from this.
1. India
You must be absolutely surprised to see India among the dysfunctional countries. In general, of course, this is not such, however, the 118th indicator of GDP per capita is clearly not a reason to brag. The fact is that beautiful views, luxurious hotels and hospitable beaches are just a small tourist area, behind which lies the difficult Indian reality of most residents. Slums and overt poverty, accompanied by all kinds of ailments and diseases, are often standard living conditions for ordinary people. No wonder you need to undergo a bunch of medical procedures to travel to India in order to protect your body from various infections.
